Thank You Veterans!
I often wondered the difference between Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day. I never really knew the real difference, but understood one to be for living and one for deceased. According to the US Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Memorial Day honors American service members who died in service to their country or as a result of injuries incurred during battle, while Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans–living or dead–but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war and peacetime.
According to the Veterans Administration, there are approx. 23.2 million military veterans in the United States. WOW! That is a lot of service members. Like me, I'm sure you know one or more.
My father, now deceased, was a member of the Army and served during the Korean War. Numerous uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends have also served or are serving in the armed forces. Without the dedicated, often unappreciated service of these brave men and women, America would not be the country it is today.
November 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in the lives to keep our country the home of the free! Curly Girlz Candy would like to thank all of our service members on Veteran’s Day – active duty and retired. All veterans and service members are encouraged to stop out and enjoy a free chocolate or piece of fudge as a small token of our appreciation. No purchase necessary.
Thank You for your service!
